Wally Yachts

The Wally family of yachts have come to enjoy an eye-brow raising reputation. Their cutting-edge design is influenced by Luca Bassani dislike of vertical lines, “vertical lines make a boat look slow no matter how fast it is going” he says. The technology underneath these beautiful crafts have challenged yacht design and construction conventions, creating breath-taking masterpieces. Over the years they have produced an impressive list of work: the Wally 130, the 85m Wallypower and the Wallypower 70, an extreme, high-performance yacht.

RA by Adam Voorhees

Ra exemplifies the balance between public and private as the hierarchy of living spaces hosts fewer decks with larger volumes, creating more dramatic and usable environments.

Life Equatic

Mario Fajgelbaum´s 22m self-sustaining catamaran was composed as an eco-friendly vehicle that uses energy from the sea, wind and sun to power the engines. While the engines are idle, the crafts can be used to stock up on precious solar power. Water power will be harnessed using a 180” telescope turbine that accumulates water current voltage.

A networked computer on board controls the boat's systems, including the wings, which track the sun and wind and adapt depending on whether. If the weather is atrocious, the upper wings, fold up against the side of the boat and the lower wings help stabilize the boat.

DesignNobis claims that there were many factors behind the boat's design. "The objective was to create a new and alternative sailing vessel that would achieve a lightweight system, high sail performance, and all-weather navigation capacity with near zero emissions."
