A unique jewel

The first car in a series is good.  But the last car is best. It is inevitably refined, improved and developed. Technical sophistication is important, particularly if it represents a unique and successful configuration. The important of all is success in competition, and the overall winner of the 24 Heures du Mans is the best of all. The expression of all these attributes is the 1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM, auctioned by RM Auctions at 9,281,250 $.

The new jewel of Mercedes-Benz and AMG embodies a blend of consummate automotive fascination and high tech. A compelling mix of purist styling, consistent lightweight design, future-related development and superior driving dynamics. At the same time, the SLS fully lives up to all the expectations of hallmark Mercedes everyday practicality and optimum safety.

The engine: V8 6.2 liter with a 563 horsepower matched with a seven speed dual clutch transmission which is placed at the back of the car. With a horse power for every 6 pounds it is not surprisingly that from 0 to 60 mph, Mercedes SLS AMG can go in 3.8 seconds.

A precious creation

The Bugatti Type 51 was produced from 1931 to 1935 with a total of 40 car produced. These new racing cars were Ettore Bugatti’s attempt to replace the aging Type 35 with a more modern racing car with improved power and performance.

Given the rigors of competition and the stress and wear it creates in racing cars, it is rare to find a car that has remained unscathed. To find a car of this caliber, with this provenance and in this condition is extraordinary. A rare beauty offered by RM Auctions.

1938 Delahaye 135 MS Competition Cabriolet by Figoni & Falaschi

With stunning Figoni & Falaschi open coachwork constructed on the 135 MS Competition-type long chassis, this unique Delahaye offers the delectable combination of the best in late ’30s French custom body design with some of the highest specification mechanicals ever offered by the company. This particular Delahaye is also somewhat unusual in that it participated in two diametrically opposed forms of motoring competition by being both a show car and a racing car. The Type 135 model Delahaye was the first car produced after the merger in 1935 of Delage and Delahaye, enjoying tremendous success in competition, from Montlhéry to Le Mans. In 1936, the Model 135 M, or Competition version, joined the line-up with a six-cylinder 3,557 cc engine that had a larger bore and triple carburettors. In 135 MS form, with its larger exhaust valves, the Delahaye could reach 110 mph.
