What does a woman need to posses in order to attract him as a model? Gabriele stated the following : "In my opinion, every woman can be a model because every woman has about her a femininity that a good photographer should be able to draw out".

Today Gabriele Rigon shoots nudes for many international magazines and his work has appeared on more than 40 book covers. "The truth is that I am a romantic, and in front of a female beauty the only way to say something is poetry" specifies the photographer.

Simple Sensuality

In 1962 Victor Skrebneski became the exclusive photographer for Estee Lauder, a role he played for 27 years. Despite of his work for the fashion and advertising fields, Skrebneski was also creating a name for himself in the world of portraiture. In 1967 he photographed a nude Vanessa RedGrave for a publicity shot that became an instant iconic portrait of the actress. That followed up in the early 70’s his famous minimalist series of  portraits of celebrities such as Orson Welles, Andy Warhol, Bette Davis and Truman Capote. He has achieved to create iconic photographs out of  pure  sensuality.

During the course of a career spanning five decades, Newton has become regarded as a prolific image maker, genuine visionary and one of the world´s leading photographers.

Shortly before his death in 2003, Newton had established the Helmut Newton Foundation (H.N.F.)-an organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of his own works and those of his wife, June Newton, who from the 1970's onwards had created a significant body of portrait photographs under the pseudonym 'Alice Springs.

In this evocative book, the concept of the coffee table book is turned upside down and we are taken to the frontier of upmarket fashion magazine versus fine art book, as Amedeo proves that he has found ways of captivating his subjects with style and refined flamboyance.

The images selected are not only some of his best known and loved, but we are also made privy to a smaller selection of rarer, unpublished works. The book is a reflection upon Amedeo's own personal insight to women: simple and classic, but with a contemporary twist.
